Shelfind ("Shelfind", "we", "us") is an app that helps you find, choose, and understand products on a shelf by analyzing a photo. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and the choices you have. It is written to be honest and specific — it describes only what the app actually does.

When you take or select a photo to analyze, it is sent to our service, which forwards it — together with the search term or request you type — to Google's Gemini vision model to identify products in the image.
Your photos are never stored. A photo is held only in memory for the moment it takes to process your request, passed to the analysis model, and then discarded. We do not save it to any database, file storage, or backup — on our servers or Google's — beyond the transient processing of your request.
Signing in is optional and only required to subscribe. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we store your email address and the account identifier those providers give us, so we can recognize your account on future visits. We never receive or store your Google or Apple password.
If you subscribe, your purchase is processed by the app store's in-app purchase system and managed through our subscription-management provider. We store your subscription status and billing period so we can unlock your access. We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by the app store.
For each analysis we temporarily store the text result (never the image), together with an anonymous or account identifier and technical metadata such as which model was used and how long the request took. Text results are automatically deleted within minutes. We also keep minimal operational data to prevent automated abuse and to enforce free-trial and subscription limits — for example, request counts and the IP address of requests.
Your history of past analyses is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to or synced with our servers. If you delete the app, that history is gone.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use your data for advertising.
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the app:
Shelfind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Our providers operate global infrastructure, so your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. We use reputable providers that maintain appropriate safeguards for this processing.
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
